Bio: Ana Varona holds degrees in kinesiology and health promotion, is an NCBTMB Certified Clinical Rehabilitative Massage Specialist and has been in practice for 38 years.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course presents a systematic anatomy and kinesiology-based approach to soft tissue treatment for injury or surgery recovery, pain, and dysfunction. Students learn assessment and treatment techniques to address the myofascial system from the superficial to the deepest layers. These include techniques that utilize shortening or lengthening of tissues, client movement, joint mobilization, and assisted stretching. There will be time to address specific client cases provided by participants. The course covers a detailed review of the composition, characteristics, and common injuries and conditions affecting soft tissues, as well as an update on the science of pain and inflammation.
