Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) is a form of active stretching commonly used in physical therapy, sports rehabilitation, and exercise training. Muscle Energy Techniques are used to mobilize restricted joints and lengthen shortened muscles. This method is also based on the principles of reciprocal inhibition, where contracting one muscle will relax the muscle on the opposite side of the joint.

Muscle Energy Techniques provide significant benefits in terms of increasing flexibility, enhancing muscular strength, and improving joint function. They can be particularly beneficial as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for rehabilitation or as a preventive measure to avoid injuries in athletes and active individuals. When used properly, these techniques can help achieve optimal results in muscle and joint function.
