Pin and Stretch and Active Isolated Stretching are two techniques used to increase flexibility and improve muscle function, each with unique methodologies and benefits. Pin and Stretch focuses on manual manipulation to release tension and adhesions in muscles, while Active Isolated Stretching uses controlled movements to improve flexibility and circulation without the risk of overstretching. Both techniques are particularly useful in sports therapy, rehabilitation, and among athletes but can be beneficial for anyone looking to improve muscle function, flexibility, and reduce pain. These methods can be used complementary to one another for optimal benefit to the patient.
