Pin and stretch is a massage technique commonly used in sports and therapeutic settings to address muscular tension, tightness, and restrictions. It involves applying localized pressure to a specific area of muscle or soft tissue while simultaneously stretching the muscle in the opposite direction. The aim of pin and stretch is to release tension, increase flexibility, and promote better range of motion.
The pin and stretch technique can be performed on various muscle groups, such as the hamstrings, quadriceps, calves, shoulders, and neck. It is typically used in conjunction with other massage techniques to address specific muscular imbalances and dysfunctions.
