COURSE DESCRIPTION
Please wear comfortable LAB Clothes
This 4-hour interactive training is designed to help massage therapists identify, prevent, and professionally navigate transference and countertransference in client sessions. Through discussion, guided self-assessments, ethical case scenarios, and reflective practices, participants will leave with clear tools to maintain therapeutic neutrality, prevent burnout, and establish healthy professional boundaries.
Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Define transference and countertransference and identify their signs in therapeutic massage sessions.
2. Evaluate personal risk factors and behavioral patterns that increase likelihood of transference.
3. Use a professional checklist to assess boundaries and emotional reactions.
4. Apply practical tools to maintain therapeutic neutrality and emotional regulation.
5. Implement ethical communication and boundary-setting language in client interactions.
